The main aims of the seminars were to:
The seminars were held in London, Manchester, Bristol and Leeds on the 10th, 13th, 18th, and 20th September 2002 respectively, and were attended by a total of 252 local authority and local LSC staff. Seventy one delegates attended the London seminar, sixty one attended the Manchester seminar, forty five attended the Bristol seminar and a further seventy five attended the seminar in Leeds. Delegates were asked to consider the circular and the options included. They were also asked to note aspects that they welcomed, any parts of the circular that caused concern as well as anything they would like explained in more detail. These were then summarised and fed back at the events. Some delegates also requested that NIACE post the group feedback onto our website to inform of participants' subsequent responses to the consultation. Please note the attached documents do not necessarily represent the views of NIACE and are intended as an aide-memoire for delegates to inform their response to the consultation. We have tried as far as possible to represent all views expressed, however, we have deleted duplicate or illegible comments. NIACE will also be providing a detailed summary report for the LSC.
